Spain's King Carlos signs abdication law

Spain's King Juan Carlos is signing an abdication law passed by the Senate, concluding nearly 40 years on the throne.

It paves the way for his son, Prince Felipe, to be sworn in as the new king on Thursday.

King Carlos was seen as popular for much of his reign, but recently many Spaniards have lost confidence in him.
