Clashes at Paris pro-Palestinian demonstration

French police fired tear gas as clashes broke out at a banned pro-Palestinian demonstration on Saturday, as thousands defied a ban on the protest.

At least 3,000 people gathered at the Place de la Republique in eastern Paris. Riot police responded with tear gas after stones were thrown.
