Several injured in chemical explosion near Bremen

A large explosion at a chemical waste facility in north west Germany has left several people injured.

Several houses near the plant in Ritterhude near Bremen were evacuated, police said.

The fire was extinguished after burning for several hours.

The cause is still unknown and authorities say an investigation will begin once the location has cooled down.
