Italy mass protest against government labour plans

A large demonstration has been held in Rome to protest against government plans to overhaul Italy's labour market.

The union that organised the protest claimed that as many as a million people had taken part.

The reforms of the centre-left Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi are intended to make it easier for companies to both hire and fire their employees.

Alan Johnston reports.
