The Berlin Wall: 25 years of life without the Iron Curtain
Twenty-five years ago on 9 November the Berlin Wall came down. It had been one of the icons of the Cold War, dividing capitalist West Berlin from the socialism of East Berlin.
Caroline Polenz was 25 years old and living in East Berlin at the time.
BBC News went to meet her, and her son Fabian, now 25 himself.
