Student's epic journey to flee East Germany

Jens Kiessling was a student in East Germany before the fall of the Berlin Wall who hatched an extraordinary plan to escape to the West.

He travelled 6,000 miles via Russia and Mongolia to the West German embassy in Beijing, where he claimed citizenship.
