Dutch bird flu: 'Public should not be overly concerned, say health officials

A Dutch public health official has said there is no need to be "overly concerned" about bird flu in the Netherlands.

Benno Bruggink from the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority stated that specialists said eating eggs or poultry was of no danger whatsoever.

However he admitted officials were worried as bird flu was "very contagious" and officials had no idea where it had come from.
