France Alps snow: 'Journey so far has taken 47.5 hours'

Thousands of travellers have been left stranded by heavy snow and ice in the French Alps.

While some have started arriving home on emergency flights, hundreds of others remain stranded.

Colin Byrne and his family have been trying to get back to the UK for almost 48 hours. He spent ten hours at Chambery airport on Sunday and spoke to the BBC from his French hotel room.
