Italy ferry fire: Smoke hampers rescue effort

Rescuers have spent the night battling smoke and gale force winds to try to save more than 250 passengers trapped on a burning Italian ferry in the Adriatic Sea.

The blaze on board the Norman Atlantic, which was travelling from Patras in Greece to Ancona in Italy, started on the ferry's car deck.

James Reynolds reports.
