Why are Germans protesting? - 15 secs

German politicians and celebrities have joined a campaign against Pegida, a group protesting against what it sees as the "Islamisation" of Europe.

80 public figures have backed a petition in German newspaper Bild. following a rally by thousands of people in the eastern city of Dresden.

Demonstrations against Pegida have also taken place, with lights being switched off at cathedrals and Berlin's Brandenburg Gate.
