French MPs sing La Marseillaise in National Assembly

Members of the National Assembly in France have held a minute's silence for the 17 victims of Islamist militants in the parliament's first meeting since the deadly attacks in Paris last week.

The MPs sang the national anthem, La Marseillaise.

Addressing parliament, the French prime minister, Manuel Valls, described it as a homage to the victims of the attacks.
