Finance Minister Varoufakis: Greece 'like drug addicts'

The Greek finance minister, Yanis Varoufakis has been holding talks in Paris with his French counterpart, Michel Sapin, to argue for a rethink of the terms of Greece's international debt repayment.

Speaking at a news conference after the meeting, Mr Varoufakis gave more details about how his government intends to tackle its debt crisis, setting out proposals that he said would benefit Europe as well as Greece.

He ruled out Greece receiving a new tranche of the bailout package.

He said Greece had spent the last five years living for the next loan tranche like drug addicts craving the next dose.
