Alps plane crash: Crash findings shocking, says Merkel

German Chancellor Angela Merkel says she is "deeply shocked" by revelations that the German co-pilot of the plane appears to have deliberately started a descent.

In a statement, Mrs Merkel said findings by those investigating the crash in the French Alps add an "absolutely unimaginable dimension" to the disaster.

She added that Germany would do all it could to support the investigation into the crash.
