MEPs back eCall car crash alert 'to save lives'

A new emergency call device will be installed in new cars EU-wide in 2018, after MEPs voted for it.

Olga Sehnalova, the Czech MEP who steered the legislation, said the eCall system would save lives and would not invade people's privacy.

She spoke to the BBC's Bethany Bell in Strasbourg.
