Hundreds of migrants feared drowned in the Mediterranean

As many as 500 people are feared to have drowned last week in the Mediterranean according to the UN refugee agency and the International Organisation for Migration.

If confirmed, it's the worst tragedy in 12 months and brings the number of migrants drowning in the southern Mediterranean to nearly 800 this year.
