Wildfires threaten Algarve holiday resort

Three villages in southern Portugal were evacuated on Thursday after wildfires hit the area.

Hundreds of firefighters were on the ground battling the flames with the aid of vehicles and aircraft, near the resort town of Portimao in the Algarve.

The villages of Carrical, Moinho da Rocha and Tabual were evacuated.
