Family of a hit and run victim want independent inquiry

A man who admitted causing the death of a woman by dangerous driving has been sentenced to 10 years and 72 days in prison.

Donovan Kitching, 30, from St John's in the Isle of Man, pleaded guilty in September to causing the death of Gwen Valentine from Winchester, Hampshire.

She was visiting family when she was struck by a car driven by Kitching on the Tholt-y-Will Road on 26 April.

Ms Valentine's family are calling for an independent investigation into the circumstances leading up to her death.
