Candlelit tribute for 'firework' fan Sophie Birtles
Hundreds of people have attended a candlelit vigil for a 13-year-old girl from the Isle of Man who died from a rare genetic disorder.
Sophie Birtles from Douglas died at a children's hospice in Braddan on 8 June after losing her battle with Juvenile Sandhoff Disease.
A message recorded for her by American pop star Katy Perry was shared by thousands of people on social media.
Referencing one of her biggest hits, Perry said Sophie "was a firework."
Debbie Pitts from the children's hospice who cared for Sophie said she was a "very inspirational young girl."
