SS Vega model marks 70th anniversary of Channel Islands visit
A group of model boat enthusiasts have completed a replica of SS Vega, to the celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Red Cross ship's vital role in bringing supplies to the Channel Islands.
The islands, under German military control during World War Two, were cut off from supplies from France after the Allies successful landings at the Normandy beaches.
The Red Cross stepped in after reports of the desperate situation in the island with parcels from around the world delivered over a six-month period.
