Mexican president defends war on drugs
President Felipe Calderon of Mexico has defended his strategy in the fight against drugs gangs, saying that rising levels of violence did not mean the war was being lost.
But at a meeting with opposition leaders, Mr Calderon said he was prepared to revise his approach if necessary, and was looking at a plan to tackle money-laundering by drugs gangs.
