69 days: Chile miners' long wait for rescue

Events are being held in Chile on Thursday to mark the anniversary of the rescue of a group of trapped miners that transfixed the world.

The 33 men were hauled out one by one after being trapped deep underground for 69 days in northern Chile.

This video looks back at the group's long wait for rescue, after a tunnel collapsed at the mine on 5 August 2010, trapping them below ground.

First broadcast 13 October 2010.
