Rousseff sworn in as Brazil's first female president
The new president of Brazil, Dilma Rousseff, has been sworn into office.
A former left-wing rebel who was tortured under military rule, Ms Rousseff is the first woman to lead Latin America's biggest nation.
She takes over from her political mentor, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who leaves office after two terms with popularity ratings of more than 80%.
Jim Fish reports.
