Mexican president defends war on drug cartels
The Mexican president, Felipe Calderon, has defended his war against the country's drug cartels during a meeting with people who have lost family members to drug violence.
President Calderon deployed the army to fight gangs following his election in 2006.
Critics say it has fuelled the violence instead of stopping it.
Julian Miglierini reports from Mexico City.
