Chilean students invade Senate demanding referendum
Chilean students have stormed into a Senate committee room, in the latest protest of their months-long push for free education.
The activists left several hours later, after opposition lawmakers promised to introduce a bill calling for a referendum.
Outside the building, police used water cannon to disperse hundreds of other protesters.
The government has rejected the students' calls for fully funded, state-run education for all, but promised around $4bn (£2.6bn) in extra funding.
Liliet Heredero reports.
