Mexican festival remembers the dead
In Mexico, the traditional celebrations for the Day of the Dead is mixed this year with events to remember the victims of drug-related violence.
More than 40,000 people have been killed in drug-related violence over the past four years in the country.
The event, marked in some other Latin American countries as well, coincides with the Catholic holidays of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day.
The ritual in Mexico is believe to have been celebrated in pre-hispanic times.
