Iranian President Ahmadinejad's UN speech sparks protest
The US and other Western delegations at the 65th UN General Assembly have walked out in protest at Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's speech.
He was speaking on the first day of the week-long UN diplomatic marathon at its New York headquarters.
US President Obama earlier said the doors of diplomacy remained open for Iran, as he addressed members. He also spoke of the possibility of a Palestinian state becoming a member of the United Nations, in a year's time.
Mark Mardell reports from New York.
