'Carnival atmosphere' at Cairo demo

Thousands of Egyptian protesters are gathering for a massive rally in Cairo as they step up their efforts to force President Hosni Mubarak from power.

Some demonstrators hung an effigy of Mubarak from a traffic signal in Tahrir Square but the BBC's John Sudworth says the crowds are good-natured.
