Rival supporters clash in Yemen's capital Sanaa

There have been rival demonstrations in Yemen between anti-government protesters and those who support President Ali Abdullah Saleh.

In the capital, Sanaa, protesters took to the streets after Friday prayers but were met by opponents wielding sticks and threatening them.

Iona Craig, a journalist and an editor for the Yemen Times, described how events unfolded.
