Former Israeli President Katsav jailed for seven years
The former Israeli President Moshe Katsav has been sentenced to seven years in prison on charges of rape and sexual harassment.
He was convicted at an earlier hearing of raping an employee in the 1990s, when he was tourism minister, and of later sexual offences while he was president.
Mr Katsav, who stepped down in 2007, has denied the charges against him and his lawyers say that he will appeal.
