Syria's President Assad blames unrest on 'external forces'
After two weeks of violent unrest that has claimed dozens of lives, Syria's President Assad has addressed the nation, blaming the unrest on external forces.
It is the first time he has spoken publicly about the protests.
Speaking in parliament, Mr Assad said that a small minority bent on creating chaos and division were responsible for the violence.
