Syria unrest: What chance international intervention?
International pressure on the Syrian authorities is increasing, in the face of continuing unrest and concerns about its impact on the stability of the rest of the Middle East.
But while the west is becoming more keen on the idea of intervention, there is little appetite for it among the Arab nations, and Russia and China have effectively blocked any hope of UN participation.
