Syria unrest: UN says regime using shoot-to-kill policy
The UN has accused the Syrian government of operating "an apparent shoot-to-kill policy" regarding people taking part in protests against the president.
UN Human Rights high commissioner Navi Pillay says the regime has killed more than 2,200 people during the five-month crackdown on the Syrian opposition.
