Palestinians take statehood bid to the UN
This week Palestinians are expected to go the United Nations in New York to ask to become recognised as a state.
Such a state would include the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem, all land Israel captured in 1967.
The Israeli leadership is fiercely against the move, which comes a year after US led Middle East peace talks collapsed.
