UN resolution on Syria is vetoed by China and Russia
China and Russia have vetoed a UN Security Council resolution condemning Syria over its crackdown on anti-government protesters.
Nine countries backed the European-drafted resolution in the 15-member council, while four more abstained.
US envoy to the United Nations, Susan Rice, expressed Washington's ''outrage'' at the move.
