Syria death toll tops 3,500, UN says
The number of people killed in Syria, during anti-government protests, has risen to more than 3,500 according to the United Nations which says the figures are conservative.
The uprising against the Assad regime began in March since when there has been a brutal crackdown by security forces centred on the city of Homs.
