Campaigners have accused government forces in Syria of committing crimes against humanity.
Human Rights Watch says it has found evidence of torture and unlawful killings in the city of Homs, where protesters against President Assad have repeatedly clashed with security forces.
The charity says Syria should be referred to the International Criminal Court and have its membership of the Arab League suspended.
