Syria: Bashar al-Assad vows to use 'iron fist' to crush unrest
In Syria, President Assad has blamed a foreign conspiracy for the unrest and violence of the past year.
In a defiant two-hour speech - his first for several months - he promised to use an 'iron fist' to crush what he described as 'terrorism'.
The main opposition, the Syrian National Council, says the anti-government protests will continue.
