Syria: UN condemns 'ruthless repression' of Homs

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights has condemned the use of violence by the Syrian regime against civilians in the city of Homs.

Addressing the General Assembly in New York, Navi Pillay called the bombardment deplorable and appalling.

She said the "ruthless repression" of the city of Homs was in danger of plunging the country into civil war.
