Stopping civil war in Syria 'biggest challenge', says Bowen

The UN's human rights chief has called on the international community to act to protect civilians in Syria from continuing "ruthless repression".

Navi Pillay urged the UN to refer the situation in Syria to the International Criminal Court, but the Syrian Ambassador to the UN called her report "unprincipled" and said his government was fighting what it says are terrorists.

Jeremy Bowen reports from Cairo.
