Clashes continue in Syria as ceasefire nears, say activists
Clashes between Syrian troops and activists are continuing despite an approaching ceasefire deadline, according to activists.
Meanwhile, the UN and Arab League envoy to Syria, Kofi Annan, has said he has received assurances from Damascus that it will respect his ceasefire plan.
Speaking during a visit to Iran, Mr Annan said there could be "improved conditions on the ground" by Thursday morning, if all sides did so.
