Syria failure condemned by UN General Assembly

The UN General Assembly in New York has voted overwhelmingly to condemn the Syrian government and the failure of the major world powers to stop the violence.

Meanwhile the UK government has said Britain will provide more support to anti-government fighters in Syria, short of sending them arms.
