Peace envoy Lakhdar Brahimi in talks with Syria's Assad
The international peace envoy, Lakhdar Brahimi, has been meeting the Syrian president Bashar al-Assad on the second day of a visit to the capital Damascus.
In brief comments after the meeting, Mr Brahimi gave no indication of progress towards a negotiated solution to the conflict, and he said the situation was still worrying.
Syrian opposition activists said 90 people were killed on Sunday in a government air strike on the rebel-held town of Halfaya.
