US soldiers check out of Afghanistan

Afghanistan will be holding presidential elections in 2014, and by the end of the year all foreign combat troops should have left the country.

It is a huge logistical challenge with thousands of troops and large equipment to transport.

David Loyn reports from a transit base at Manas, in Kyrgyzstan, as some personnel board a plane home.
