Syrians vote in controversial presidential election

Syrians have been voting in the country's presidential election.

Voting is only taking place in government-controlled areas, which has led critics to describe the election as a sham.

It is likely that Bashar al-Assad will stay as leader.

The BBC's Middle East editor, Jeremy Bowen, reports from Damascus.
