Iraq: 'Rallying cry' from Islamist militants

Iraqi Kurdish forces say they have taken full control of the northern oil city of Kirkuk as the army flees before an Islamist offensive nearby.

Islamist militants who have overrun large areas of Northern Iraq are now urging their supporters to march on the capital Baghdad.

Led by the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIS), militants took control of Mosul on Tuesday.

An audio recording has emerged of ISIS spokesman Abu Muhammad al-Adnani in which he calls for the Sunni insurgents not to give up the land they have taken control of.

The BBC's Rami Ruhayem reports from Irbil in Kurdish-run northern Iraq.
