Obama outlines strategy to tackle Islamic State

President Obama has promised a relentless military campaign to try to degrade and ultimately destroy the militant group, Islamic State (IS).

In a televised address to the American people, he announced an extension of air strikes to Syria.

But he said he would not be deploying ground troops to take on IS.
