US carries out more air strikes on IS in Syria and Iraq

US forces have carried out more air strikes against Islamic State militants around the Syrian town of Kobane, on the border with Turkey.

Meanwhile, the UN special envoy to Syria, Staffan de Mistura , has warned that up to 700 people are still trapped in the besieged town.

The Pentagon said bombers hit six targets, destroying two buildings, a tank and a heavy machine gun. There were also air strikes in Iraq.
