Palestinian UN resolution loss is 'opportunity' - Jordan
A resolution that called for an end to Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories within three years has been rejected by the United Nations Security Council.
A minimum of nine votes in favour was required to secure approval but it got only eight.
The resolution was submitted by Jordan after it had been agreed upon by 22 Arab states and the Palestinian Authority.
Jordan's ambassador to the UN, Dina Kawar, said that they knew it would be hard to get the resolution through.
