British troops to leave Afghanistan by 2014
The defence secretary has indicated that British troops fighting in Afghanistan could start leaving in four years' time.
Liam Fox confirmed that under a timetable expected to be agreed in Kabul this week, Afghan forces will take charge of their own security by 2014.
The move came as the government said it was increasing aid to Afghanistan.
