Britain will continue to support Afghanistan after the withdrawal of troops scheduled for 2015, David Cameron has told the Afghan President Hamid Karzai.

But once the transition has taken place, the Afghan police will play an important role.

The BBC's Paul Wood joined a police contingent as they mounted an operation against the Taliban in Shash Kapa in the north eastern province of Baghlan.
